Heartbeat Bill Temporarily Blocked in Georgia
A federal judge has temporarily blocked Georgia’s “heartbeat bill” this afternoon from going into effect. The bill, House Bill 481, would have gone into effect on January 1, 2020.
CBS News shared the following quote from Barbara Ann Luttrell, spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Southeast:
“This is a victory for Georgia and people all across the country. We promise the people we serve and the people across the state to protect access to abortion and together we have.”

Doesn’t most signed legislation usually take effect around July 1? Why the extra delay on this one?
So we’ll get an 11th Circuit ruling (at least a 3-judge panel?) on October 28th, 2020?
And all the attorneys shout, Hallelujah! as more money falls from the skies at taxpayers expense.
