There Be Dragons
- Iran launches ballistic missiles at US-occupied Iraqi bases with no American casualties
- Wild conjecture: the attack coincided with Soleimani’s funeral. Iranian state TV has reported casualties they know did not occur. Their targets were neither the largest nor the closest. Our early-warning systems gave troops up to 15 minutes of warning. They wanted to miss. There will be no hot war.
- That being said, a 737 went down outside Tehran as I type this. Texas Governor Abbott warns of Iranian cyber attacks. A damn earthquake just hit the Afghan-Iranian border. Who knows.

Good morning, Chet. Lots of links today.
What’s bunk about a Loeffler poll that claims she’s little known and poses match-ups with Doug Collins and Paul Broun?
No shock that Baghdad is less impulsive than dog-wagging DC.
Also, a Boeing-made airplane going down is hardly news these days, and those weren’t earthquakes, they were nuclear explosions. That last is from Greg Abbott who hasn’t been played like this since Russians bots turned him on to Jade Helm.
Finally, and forever, it’s Elvis’ birthday.
Good morning! Elvis’s birthday was an egregious oversight. All hail The King.
The name ID portion of that PPP poll isn’t bunk and is valuable. But a head-to-head matchup among Republican primary voters is, because any potential election won’t be a Republican primary. And I wouldn’t trust PPP to fairly poll Republican primary voters anymore than I would trust Rasmussen to poll Dems. They have an objective which is maximizing Republican chaos. They did a good job of achieving it!
