Morning Reads for National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day (January 22)
Good morning, and happy National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day! In honor, I thought I’d share the four that misunderstand me on the regular.
And now, the news:
Pat Conroy
- Did you know current Georgia law doesn’t require those over 17 to wear a seatbelt in the backseat? I didn’t, but that soon may change.
- The Atlanta airport has started screening passengers from certain regions for coronavirus.
- One in three deaths in Georgia is caused by heart disease.
- Some polling on our new junior senator shows she has some work to do before Georgia voters warm to her. (Most just don’t know who she is or don’t care.)
- In case you’re wondering where Governor Kemp got the “Georgia is #1 in business” line from, it’s our ranking in Site Selection Magazine. Forbes and CNBC had other favorite states on their lists.
- Columbus’ city manager learned that commissioners don’t always go along with the plan, especially if they’re not given time to review said plan. Things are therefore on hold when it comes to moving more services onto the former Virginia College property, at least temporarily.
Alice Walker
- If you’re going to watch the impeachment trial, this former House legislative assistant begs you to watch C-SPAN. Fewer talking heads, no commercials. Definitely the way to go.
- Chief Justice Roberts is having none of the nonsense from either side.
- President Trump wants to add tariffs on European cars.
- The 2020 Census has started.
- The travel ban is back, with additional countries this time.
Flannery O’Connor
- 92 beehives were taken from a California almond orchard last Friday.
- There’s been a sombrero-wearing pigeon spotted in Reno.
