Local news is that Cobb County Sherriff Neil Warren in a statement given only to the Marietta Daily Journal on Wednesday confirmed that the 12 Jan edition of the MDJ was not distributed in the jail “due to its possible impact on the safety and security of our staff and inmates.” Fair enough whether you agree or not, except that the AJC had been told the very same day that Warren “emphatically” denied it had not be distributed, and that the allegation was “baseless in fact but potentially harmful in affect,”
So was the AJC lied to, or does Warren not know what’s on in his own jail, or can’t be bothered to find out?
Or was the phrase “to my re-election campaign” left off the end?
What cheese, but not unexpected from someone that cost Sam Olens his post as KSU President.
I support the new visa rules concerning “birth tourism”. If it were up to me, consular officers would be able to inquire during a visa interview if a woman is pregnant or intends to become so.
The problem with supporting many things Republicans support, is that they’re stepping stones to things I don’t support. Remember only a few years ago when abortions in Georgia after 20 weeks became illegal. I thought it a little too restrictive, but not worth extended railing about. The period was reduced to six weeks at the first opportunity because that’s how they roll.
It’s an alternate universe when after two decades of general widespread expansion of legal gun-carrying the GOP complaint is that any new restriction mean that guns will be taken away.
Take a cue from the from McConnell’s initial rules for the impeachment trial. Propose wholly unreasonable rules so when less than reasonable changes are made Mitch can tell moderates it was a compromise. Pffft.
Speaking of impeachment, the biggest national political news going, did anyone else see that Lindsay Graham couldn’t stand to be in the Senate yesterday while a video of his remarks to the Senate during the Clinton impeachment trial was played.
That Graham can’t stand or own his own past remarks, or say anything significant to rebut Trump’s ongoing and repeated denigration of supposedly close friend John McCain both while alive or after death, is a measure of his gutlessness.
Thanks for the reads. I figured the “Thunder Dome” to be a lead to story about the climate change apocalypse beginning to show itself in Australia. Over a billion animals killed thus far. Signing out.
The state of Georgia is planning to execute Donnie Lance.
