Anyone else notice Gov Kemp mute and fidgeting in the Friday video at the CDC as Trump, wearing a trademark red partisan hat, called Democratic Washington Gov Jay Inslee a snake? Perhaps that’s why Kemp just stood there when the “stable genius” with a stated ”natural ability” for healthcare stated coronavirus testing was “perfect”, that “anyone that wants a test gets a test”, and that he thinks coronavirus-infected Americans should remain on ships because “I don’t need the [infection] numbers to double because of one ship.”
No one expects Kemp to call Trump out wrong and state that testing hasn’t been perfect, that testing protocols are in place and everyone that wants a test doesn’t need or will get a test, and that gaming infection numbers is wrong. It’s an election year.
GOP leaders, with some exceptions, on Day 1 acquiesced if not embraced “alternative facts,” and since then Trump characterizations of the media and deep state as lying, corrupt and untrustworthy. It remains to be determined if there will be any Trumpian coronavirus misinformation bad enough that GOP politicians publicly renounce it.
Thanks for providing the qualifying link.
