Michael Boggus, who finished last in Tuesday’s 9 candidate Republican Primary for the 9th Congressional District with 3% of the vote, announced last night on Facebook Live that he will continue his campaign as a write-in candidate in the November general election.
Boggus, a Conservative and Constitutionalist, was born and raised in Gainesville and works as a crane operator.
Michael brings a refreshing, populist message to politics, in the hopes of reminding the government that its responsibility is to protect and defend the rights of Americans, rather than restrict them, according to his announcement last night.
State Representative Matt “Dr. No” Gurtler and Athens gun shop owner Andrew Clyde received the most votes in Tuesday’s primary contest and will face off in the August 11 primary run-off election for the right to compete in the general election as the Republican nominee for the seat currently held by Congressman Doug Collins.
