Morning Reads for National Eat Your Vegetables Day (June 17)
Good morning! It’s National Eat Your Vegetables Day here in the United States, which comes at such an abundant time of year. This year, I’ve grown my largest garden ever, and right now, cucumbers, squash, and beans are abundant. Guess y’all know what we’re having to celebrate!

- The state’s COVID-19 scorecard showed several negative trends this week, with large increases in cases among farm workers in south Georgia.
- Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan will unveil his hate crimes proposal today.
- Democratic candidate Carolyn Bourdeaux has won the primary for Congressional District 7.
- Public Policy Polling has released a poll showing Biden slightly edging Trump in Georgia. It also has Ossoff a point ahead of Perdue.
- Analysis of how Georgia compares to South Carolina with COVID-19 cases.
- We now get to vote on whether or not we should have the right to sue the state over unconstitutional laws.
Alice Walker
- Juneteenth protests are scheduled in Atlanta and many other cities.
- Dr. Fauci is recommending no more baseball past September.
- We’re apparently pulling troops out of Germany, but no one seems to know how or why.
- China is trying to contain a second wave of COVID-19 in Beijing.
- North Korea has released images of blowing up its liaison office with South Korea.
