Good article:
“New county-level GDP data suggests rural Georgia has, for a change, improved relative to Metro Atlanta”
For the first time in years, rural Georgia in 2019 actually gained a little ground on Metro Atlanta in terms of economic output, according to new data released Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
The new county-level gross domestic product (GDP) data shows that, from 2018 to 2019, TIGC’s 56 South Georgia counties and 43 Middle Georgia counties grew their GDPs by 3.8 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively, while the 12-county Metro Atlanta region and North Georgia’s 41 counties grew by only 1.5 percent and .8 percent, respectively…

LOL funny. These sheeple are falling for a P.T. Barnum worthy humbug tacked on to the end of one of the biggest long cons ever played.
Today’s goper reality.
New congressperson Lauren Boebart, on watching electors vote in Colorado:
” How is this America? Democrat electors are allowed in to vote but Republicans are not allowed?”
“We are seeing totalitarianism take shape in front of our eyes.”
Thanks, Lauren. Freedom Caucus is right down the hall.
I’ve seen several political Georgia scenes described as kabuki theater in this forum but the link Teri gave to The Jolt column has me leaning towards theater of the absurd as a better description. Perhaps the Georgia Republican party needs to find a less bat guano crazy head than David Shafer. Debbie Dooley? Marjorie Taylor Greene?
In that same article we get this from Senator Perdue:
Over in Augusta on Monday, Sen. David Perdue also told his crowd of supporters it’s not over yet. He didn’t take questions at an Atlanta stop late Monday, but the Savannah Morning News reports he said earlier in the day that Trump “still has recourses.”
“Fewer today than he had a few weeks ago,” Perdue said. “But the Secretary of State today announced they’re going to have a signature audit of Cobb County. (Trump) is exercising his right to get to the bottom of this.”
We all know that a signature audit at this point will have no bearing whatsoever in Trump’s defeat. I’ve got to trot out my namesake’s quote here: “It may be true that you can’t fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country.”
