Kudzu Vine Review: 1/24/2021
In our first show of the Joe Biden administration we discussed his first few days in office, but this was not the lead topic. At the beginning of the show Tim, Catherine, and David remembered the sports, civic, and political legacy of Home Run King Hank Aaron.
After honoring the life of Henry Aaron, the peaceful transfer of power on Wednesday and the 17 executive orders signed by President Biden were discussed.
Then the Kudzu Vine welcomed political data expert David Shor to the show for the first time. David Shor discussed the problems and future of polling, demographic shifts in Georgia and gave excellent political data info on his home state of Florida.
In the final minutes of the show the panel speculated how much and how long of a political honeymoon Joe Biden would get.

As much as I’d like to believe the ideal, I think it would be downright irresponsible for anyone to characterize the Presidential transition as “peaceful”. It whitewashes January 6th’s obvious violent attempts to stop a critical part of that transfer of power. The inauguration ceremony was not near the totality of the power transfer process.
