- Georgia ranks second-to-last in the United States in the rate of required nursing home visits.
- A Savannah teacher is Georgia’s new Teacher of the Year.
- Six companies in Georgia are licensed to produce medical marijuana but many patients and caregivers are concerned that several of the companies may be more concerned with making money than in producing the high-quality oils that patients rely on.
- As of September 1, all employees in Athens-Clark County will have the guidance they need to understand the county’s vaccine mandate for employees.

Employers may start adding a $50/month surcharge to unvaccinated workers’ health care plans.
The premiums for employer health plans will be going up with the new wave of Covid and employers figure that will be be due to unvaccinated workers seeking health care.

“As the Delta variant drives a relentless COVID-19 surge, Georgia’s vaccination rate has picked up steam.
A Washington Post analysis, based on CDC data, reported Tuesday that the state’s rate of new doses administered climbed 26 percent over the past week. The national vaccination rate rose 8 percent during the same time.”
