Meagan Hanson, Republican candidate in GA-6, joins fellow Republican candidates Jake Evans (GA-6) and Rich McCormick (GA-7) as one of thirty-two candidates nationwide named as part of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program. Candidates enter the program as “On the Radar” candidates and can progress to full Young Gun status when they meet “a series of rigorous goals and surpassed program benchmarks.”
Hanson’s campaign provided the following press release marking the announcement:
Today, Meagan Hanson, conservative candidate running to unseat liberal Democrat Lucy McBath in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District, was announced as one of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Young Guns” for the 2022 cycle. The “Young Guns” program, led by GOP Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, is an exclusive program that helps equip promising Republican candidates across the country with the tools they need to run winning campaigns. Hanson is one of just 32 candidates nationwide who was selected to join the “Young Guns” program ahead of next year’s midterm elections.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by Leader McCarthy and the NRCC for our efforts to take back Georgia’s 6th Congressional District,” said Hanson. “My team and I are working around the clock to oust Liberal Lucy McBath, take back the House Majority, and send Nancy Pelosi packing. Clearly, Republican leaders have recognized my campaign as one of the top organizations in the nation – and with their full support, we’ll be even better positioned to deliver a big victory next November and restore conservative leadership to Washington, D.C.”
“Our movement is more united, energized, and passionate than I’ve ever seen it,” said Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. “I’m proud to welcome these candidates to the Young Guns program and I look forward to working together to not only take the House — but to build a lasting Republican majority.”
